ZZZZ Packaging Supplies is a general packaging supplier based in Florida. They concentrate primarily in supplying the seafood industry with its packaging supply needs.
ZZZ Seafood, the nationally-known packers of Tuna and other fish, wanted to change their multi-pack packages from the traditional boxboard wrappings. Their marketing department chose shrink wrap films as the new method of package unitization.
While it was priced right, they rejected polyethylene film as not being optically attractive enough. They, therefore, chose Cryovac’s D-955 IRRADIATED polyolefin shrink film as the film to use. Soon enough, they discovered that the pricing of the Cryovac film was a bit too costly. They, then, contacted their general packaging supplier, ZZZZ Packaging, for advice on selecting an alternative polyolefin shrink film to use. ZZZZ Packaging, unfortunately, was not distributing a line of retail display shrink films at the time. However, because they had, previously, been called upon by Flxtite’s Southern Regional Sales Manager, they contacted him for assistance.
Flxtite, then, provided the requested roll of 22″CF X75 Flxtite AP-1 NON-IRRADIATED polyolefin film for testing. The film, of course, performed as advertised. In addition, ZZZ Seafood’s Marketing Department loved its optical properties, which were far superior to the incumbent film’s. Also, more importantly, the Flxtite AP-1 was much more cost effectiove. A full pallet commercial order was, then, placed. As anticipated, it, too, performed to expectations.
The result is that ZZZZ Packaging is now a Flxtite distributor and ZZZ Seafood is a satisfied Flxtite polyolefin shrink film user.
